Lessons to Learn From the World's Richest People - #4 Bernard Arnault

Bernard Jean Étienne Arnault was born on 5 March 1949 in France and is well-known as the chairman and CEO of the French conglomerate LVMH (the largest luxury-products company in the world). He did his engineering, started to work with his father, and was deliberately involved in expanding the growth of his father’s company. So, he made his father to liquidate the construction company and to invest the money into real estate business which was then turned successful.

Then, Bernard invested $15 million to purchase Boussac Saint-Frères with the help of Bernheim who helped him to raise the remaining in the total $80 million. After acquiring this, he sold most of his company’s assets except the honored Christian Dior brand and Le Bon Marché department store and became the CEO of Dior in 1985.

Apart from all other acquisition, the takeover of conglomerate LVMH was a determined one. All over his life, Arnault showed his determination and his highly systematic and calculated acquisition of the company. He stood as a great example for the fashion world and have also inspired many brands across the world for his various works in the industry.

He says,

“When something has to be done, do it!”
